(Context Tag: Brasstown NC) Open practice for all divisions is scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC, just one week before the season opens.

"We have the new clay down and have just about everything ready to open," promoter Phil Evans said. "Hopefully when we do open in May, all of this cold and wet spring weather that has been plaguing everyone will be out of here."

The hours of the Thursday practice are from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. The action is open to all oval track cars no matter the division.

Officials will be on hand to answer questions and inspect and weigh cars. Vehicles must be race cars equipped with roll cages, and drivers must wear all safety equipment before they will be allowed on the track.

"It would be great if everyone would come out and shake their cars down on Thursday," new head tech man Benny Davis said. "We will be there to answer questions and help anyone who is having problems with the rules."

The practice is free both in the grandstands and pits, and concession stands will be open for patrons to enjoy.

Tri-County Race Track's season opener is set for Saturday, May 7, 2005, with racing running through Labor Day weekend. Special events are scheduled after Labor Day.

For more information, call the track at 828-837-3815 or visit TriCountyRaceTrack.com.
