Michael's Markdowns opens for business -- Murphy, NC 28906

Michael's Markdowns opened on November 1, 2005, and offers discounted items from department stores, wholesalers, and popular brands. Shoppers can save up to 20% - 50% off department store prices, said owner Michael Clutton.
You can find a variety of items including name brand apparel, leather jackets, lingerie, shoes, boots, housewares, and more. Each load that is delivered to the store brings something new and different, so you should visit regularly to find the latest bargains.
Michael's Markdowns is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. They are closed on Sundays.
Michael's Markdowns, located next to Sherwin Williams in the Valley Village Shopping Center, where Save-A-Lot is located.

July 4, 2005 marked the fifth anniversary of JohnDilbeck.com, and I opened my CafePress shop, Shirts-Mugs-Hats.com, only a few months later, so the fifth anniversary of Shirts-Mugs-Hats.com is coming soon, too.
I decided to celebrate by lowering the prices on all products in my store. I'll be raising the prices back to the previous level right after Labor Day, 2005.
Thanks for making my online marketing business a success. It never could have happened without quality people like you.

The Church of the Messiah, across from the courthouse downtown, will have a tea room and gift shop from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 4 and 11, 2004 in St. Barnabus Parish Hall, behind the church.
Folk School Fireside Sale -- Brasstown, NC 28902 -- December 5, 2004

The John C. Campbell Folk School will host its annual fireside sale of crafts from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 5, 2004 in Brasstown, NC.
School officials said the event will feature about 50 artists offering various handmade items such as jewelry, weavings, forged iron, photography, quilts, and turned wood.
Jan Davidson, director of the Folk School, said the event is one the school hosts to thank artists for their support.
"Lots of artists help us by donating their handcrafted items for our auction fund-raisers," he said. "Hosting the fireside sale is one way we say thanks by giving them a venue in which to showcase their significant talent and wonderful handmade wares to the general public."
Potter Marcia Bugg, who was resident artist in pottery at the folk school for 15 years, has participated in the fireside sale since the early 1980s.
"It's a nice event and I enjoy visiting with the people," she said. "The fireside sale is kind of a kickoff for the holidays for me."
The fireside sale is named in reference to the fire traditionally built in the large fireplace in the community room of the Keith House. Davidson said this roaring fire, copious holiday decorations, and live music foster a festive, fun atmosphere.
"But, it's the people that make it so special," Davidson said. "There's always lots of laughter and joy at the fireside sale."
Holiday Gift Fair - Topton, NC - November 18, 2004

A holiday gift fair will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2004, at the Topton Community Center. (Time unknown.)
Entries for the photography and gingerbread and fancy sweater competitions must be brought to the center from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2004, unless prior arrangements have been made.
Those entering the fancy sweater competition may wear them to the fair and enter the contest. Winners and awrds will be announced Thursday.
There will also be a holiday collage art contest for area schools.
