Nantahala Regional LibraryThe Murphy Public Library is a part of the Nantahala Regional Library. The Murphy Carnegie Public Library opened in April, 1922. Andrew Carnegie donated $7,500 towards the $9,500 needed for the building and the Town of Murphy donated the other $2,000. It was originally located in a brick building next to the Courthouse.
