Harris, 79, of Marble died Monda, June 30, 2008 in Murphy Medical Center. He was a native of Lee County, VA, but had lived in Virginia and New York for most of his life before moving to Cherokee County in 1987. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. Glenn had worked as an attorney for the United States Department of Justice. THELMA A. She was a native of Fulton County, Ga. Evelyn was a member of the Murphy First Baptist Church. She had worked for Levi Strauss Company for 24 years in the cutting room. Evelyn was an avid Braves fan. Gene Cornwell, age 69, of Cook Creek Road, Murphy, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Towns County, Ga., but had lived in Cherokee County his entire life. He was retired from General Telephone after 30 years. He was a US Army Veteran. He loved off-roading, old cars, working on Volkswagens, sightseeing, his kids and the beach.
